About The AI Board

The AI Board is the UK's only Ofqual-regulated awarding body built exclusively for artificial intelligence and data qualifications. We exist because AI competence needs a credible, regulated standard — and until now, there wasn't one.

The AI Board team working on AI qualifications

Our vision

A world where AI qualifications are as rigorous, trusted, and widely recognised as any other professional credential. Where every person working with AI — at any level — has access to education that is regulated, industry-aligned, and genuinely useful. We are building the standard that AI education has been missing.

Our values

Human-centric

AI should serve people. Our qualifications ensure that human judgement, oversight, and benefit remain central to AI competence.

Ethics-first

Every qualification we develop places ethical reasoning at its core — not as an afterthought, but as a foundational requirement.

Accessible

AI education should not be exclusive. We design qualifications that are reachable from any starting point.

Evidence-based

Our qualification frameworks are built on research, industry data, and continuous feedback from practitioners.

Collaborative

We work with industry, education, and policy to ensure our qualifications reflect real-world needs.
